Guys, it’s Friendship Day tomorrow and so you might want to get geared up for all the friendship day social media love, Ads, and bracelets (if that’s still a thing) that you’ll see or come your way. But as for me, I’ll probably be chilling with my friends having a drink. TBH I miss those teenage years when a day before I would write my name on every ribbon and gift to it every friend and acquaintance I knew (I know quite weird). But times have changed and while friendship bands may not really matter, what matters is the strong friendship I share with my mates. I mean every time something turns my life upside down, these are the people I go to. They are my pillar of strength and the shoulders I have cried on. So while I spend my day with them tomorrow, here’s a list of films I would watch with them. So if you are planning to do the same and need a few film suggestions, worry not I’ve got you covered because what better to celebrate friendship day than watching a film about friendship with your mates, right!
Zindagi Na Milegi Dobaara
There is something about this flick that manages to connect with me. While we’ve had a tale of three friends before, this one just keeps it so real and yet touches every chord of friendship. The film touches upon everything friends go through right from girl issues to financial crises to cancelled trips. This is a film you should totally watch if you are planning to convince your friend for a trip and the cherry on the cake is the picturesque locations and those on point poetries.
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani
Has it ever happened to you that you’ve gone on a trip and made friends on it and now they mean the world to you! Well, it has happened to me and trust me when I say this, this one showcases it perfectly. The craziness friends do couldn’t be portrayed better than this one and thus this Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor starrer gets the brownie point. Not to forget the mountains of Himachal and the lanes of Paris Ranbir travels too. This film will give you and your friend some serious #TravelGoals.
3 different people belonging to different walks of life come together in college and become friends forever. I have always wanted a friendship like Rancho had in 3 idiots. While engineering can be tough you need friends you can make it a cake walk and this film teach us exactly that. It also highlights the fact that if you are BFF’s you don’t have to meet every day or talk every day. You can meet your BFF after 10 years and yet the bond will still remain. I personally suggest you watch the film with a box of tissues, just saying!
“Har ek friend zaroori hota hai,” and this film teaches us exactly that. When life gives you lemons god gives you friends to share them with. This comedy-drama touches upon the fact that no matter how difficult life gets, if you have a friend, then you do not need to worry about it.
Back in 2001 when mindsets hadn’t evolved Farhan Akhtar made his directorial debut with Dil Chahta Hai which not only managed to win the hearts of the audience but also became a benchmark for all those who followed the way to make a friendship drama. While the film starts on a serious note it slowly and gradually introduces you to its key characters and shows us the real meaning of friendship. This one is a personal favourite.
So while I have clearly made a choice for tomorrow, have you?
